Reáchtálfar an Oíche Ólaíochta trí Ghaeilge. Foghlaim faoi coiméad ag iompar rún, tiochar próitéin bheag ar sláinte na scamhóg, damhsa cuaille, agus tuilleadh! Ní gá a bheith líofa nó cúlra san eolaíocht a bheith agat - fáilte roimh chách!

Rúin na gCóiméad i gCoráis Ghréine Eile
Sorcha Mac Manamon
(PhD Researcher, Trinity College Dublin)
Labhróidh mé faoi mo thaighde ar chóiméid i gcórais ghréine eile agus cad is féidir linn a fhoghlaim uathu faoi chonas a tháinig uisce ar an Domhan.
I will talk about my research on comets in other solar systems and what we can learn from them about how water came to Earth.

Ag fiosrú tionchar cealla faoi strus ar scamhóga othar le hUireasa Antaitripsin Alfa-1.
Lucy Kirwan
(PhD Student)
Pléann an caint seo uireasa AAT, neamhord géiniteach ina bhfuil próitéin íseal nó lochtach nach gcosnaíonn na scamhóga. Cruthaíonn sé damáiste agus athlasadh. Léiríonn sé freisin conas a chuireann próitéin mhífhillte strus ar chealla agus leis an ngalar.
This talk explores alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, a genetic condition where a faulty or low protein fails to protect the lungs. This leads to tissue damage and inflammation. It also shows how misfolded protein stresses cells, helping drive disease.

Staidéar ar Ról Polaiméirí Pataigineacha in Uireasa Antaitripsin Alfa-1
Mairéad Ní Roithleáin
(PhD Student)
Díríonn an chaint seo ar conas a ghreamaíonn próitéiní AAT lochtacha le chéile chun polaiméirí díobhálacha a chruthú i ngalar scamhóige géiniteach neamhchoitianta. Cuireann siad strus ar chealla agus athlasadh chun cinn. Scrúdaítear conas a d’fhéadfaí a bhfoirmiú a chosc mar bhunús do theiripí nua. T
his talk focuses on how faulty AAT proteins stick together to form harmful polymers in a rare genetic lung condition. These build-ups stress cells and drive inflammation. The research explores how blocking polymer formation could lead to new treatments.

Damhsa Cuaille mar Eolas Corpraithe: Taighde ar damhsa cuaille mar caitheamh aimsire in Éirinn
Arlene Caffrey
(PhD Student)
Scrúdaíonn an taighde seo damhsa cuaille trí theoiric feimineach agus inscne, ní mar thaispeántas ach mar mhodh cruthaitheachta agus féinléiriú. In Éirinn na linne seo, léiríonn athrú ar thuiscintí ar inscne agus ar an gcorp forbairt an damhsa cuaille ó aclaíocht faiseanta go hiniúchadh féiniúlachta.
This art-based research explores pole dancing through feminist and gender theory, framing it not as spectacle but as creativity and self-expression. In contemporary Ireland, shifting views on gender and embodiment shape its evolution from Celtic Tiger fitness trend to a way of exploring identity.
